The upcoming 2024 Arnold Classic bodybuilding show in Ohio is less than two weeks away, and competitors have been sharing physique updates giving a glimpse into who may come out on top.
The main showdown appears to be between defending Arnold Classic champion Hadi Choopan and challenger Samson Dauda. Based on recent updates, both men look to be in tremendous shape. Samson in particular has made incredible improvements and appears to be sharper and more conditioned than ever before. While Hadi is the on-paper favorite as the only former Mr. Olympia in the lineup, some believe that Samson could pull off the upset. It should be an epic battle between two of the top bodybuilders in the world.
Beyond the Hadi/Samson matchup, several other competitors to watch have been highlighted in recent previews. Justin Rodriguez looks sharp and improved in his latest update, while Antoine Vaillant also appears to be a dark horse despite taking time off from competition recently. Horse MD, Raphael Brandao, and James Hollingshead all seem to be in contention for a top callout as well based on pre-show assessments.
On the Classic Physique side, veteran Brian Anley is benefiting from the increased weight limits and looks just as good as he did when he won the Olympia according to some analysts. Anley could potentially upset favorites Breon Ansley and Ramon Dino for a top three placing.
With record prize money being offered at shows like the Arnold, Detroit Pro, and Dubai Pro this year, 2024 is predicted to be a big year for professional bodybuilding. The Arnold Classic Ohio should kick things off in exciting fashion with one of the deepest lineups in recent memory.
